Try one of these smoothie recipes to replace your typical breakfast or a cleansing afternoon snack.
GREEN DETOX SMOOTHIE - serves 2
Perfect if you struggle to get your daily dose of greens. high in nutrients and fibre.
Ingredients:
1 cup baby spinach
1 cup kale
1 celery stalk
1/2 green apple
1/2 banana
1/2 milk (coconut, oat, rice, almond)
1 tsp fresh grated ginger
1 tablespoon chia seeds
1 tsp honey (optional)
Method:
1. Combine spinach, kale, celery, apple, banana, milk, ginger, chia seeds and honey in blender until smooth.
2. Serve immediately
BLUEBERRY PROTEIN SMOOTHIE - serves 2
Delicious protein smoothie to fill you up at breakfast or after a big workout.
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup kale
1 cup plain yoghurt
1 banana
1 scoop protein powder
2 tbs oats
1 tbs chia seeds
1/2 cup water
Method:
1. Combine blueberries, kale, yogurt, banana, protein powder, oats, chia and 1/2 cup ice in blender until smooth.
2. Serve immediately.
A VERY BERRY SMOOTHIE - serves 2
Ingredients:
*fruit can be frozen for convenience
1/2 cup blueberries
1/2 cup strawberries
1/2 cup raspberries
1/2 cup mango
1 cup Greek yoghurt
2 tbs oats
Method:
1. Combine strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, banana, Greek yogurt and oats and 1 cup ice in blender until smooth.
2. Serve immediately.
FESTIVE MANGO ICY POLES
1. In your blender add 1 cup frozen mango and 1 cup milk of choice (coconut milk is great with this recipe).
